Im Jahr 1954 erblickte John Ronald Reuel Tolkiens Magnum Opus „Der Herr der Ringe“ zum ersten Mal das Licht der Öffentlichkeit. Heute, 60 Jahre später, gilt der Autor mit seinen zahlreichen Werken als Begründer der modernen Fantasyliteratur und hat mit seinen Geschichten und Charakteren nicht nur Leseratten inspiriert, sondern auch Zeichner, Filmemacher, Kostümbildner und – selbstverständlich – Cosplayer.
Mit dem Erscheinen des dritten Teils der Hobbit-Verfilmung „Die Schlacht der Fünf Heere“ von Regisseur Peter Jackson nimmt in diesem Dezember eine weitere filmische Tolkien-Trilogie ihr Ende. Die Cohaku zollt in der Fotostrecke dieser Ausgabe einem Lebenswerk Tribut. Willkommen in Mittelerde!

Today, about 60 years later, the author is widely considered one of the founding fathers of modern fantasy literature and with his stories and characters not only inspired lots of bookworms, but illustrators, filmmakers, costume designers and – of course – cosplayers.
With the recent release of the third Hobbit movie „Battle of the five armies“ another cinematic Tolkien trilogy comes to its epic conclusion.
